Mooloolaba Beach

Mooloolaba Beach

Mooloolaba Beach is the main beach in Mooloolaba. With the Council Lifeguard service the beach is patrolled 7 days a week every day of the year. The beach has small - medium waves good for swimming and body surfing. Mooloolaba Beach is great for families with grassy parklands, BBQ's and children's playground's. The Mooloolaba Surf Club overlooks the beach. The "Loo With A View" Marks the entrance to Mooloolaba Beach.

Most tourists and families can spend a good few days hanging out at the beach, buying lunch across the road at the various cafes and shops. Coles is close by at the top end of the Esplanade if you want to bring lunch or BBQ food.

Mooloolaba Esplanade

Mooloolaba Esplanade

Mooloolaba’s premier dining and entertainment precinct is fast gaining a reputation as one of the best in Queensland. From the delightful cosmopolitan feel of the al fresco dining area that is Mooloolaba Esplanade, diners can overlook the white sands and stunning bay that make this town so unique.

Underwater World Mooloolaba

UnderWater World

Take a journey to another world at UnderWater World (Australia), Queensland’s largest Oceanarium and Aquarium. Great value for the family and couples alike. Easily spend half a day at Underwater world, then explore the wharf.

You can view the shark feeding or watch a shark dive from the 80 metre transparent tunnel in the 2.5 million litre Oceanarium. Our most popular attraction though is our highly entertaining seal and otter shows where you’ll soon discover the highly amusing personalities of our family of mammals.

The Wharf Mooloolaba

Mooloolaba Wharf

Mooloolaba Wharf is one of Mooloolaba's oldest attractions. Serving as a focal point for many different restaurants, specialty shops and tour operators. It is also a permanent mariner for Boats & Yachts.

You can certainly feel the "age" of the wharf, it's not exactly thrilling stuff. However if it's your first time in Mooloolaba you can probably spend a few hours wondering through it's various shops and grab an ice cream.

Many Local tours operate from Mooloolaba Wharf including: Canal Cruises, Mooloolaba Jet Ski, Hog's Breath Cafe, Underwater World and the Wharf Tavern.

Mooloolaba Spit Fish & Chips

Mooloolaba Spit Fish & Chips

Mooloolaba Beach stretches all the way to point Cartwright and this section of beach is known as the "The Spit". The Spit features a range of great seafood restaurants and seafood wholesalers where you can buy your choice of fresh prawns/reef fish/oysters straight off the trawlers.

If you come to Mooloolaba you have to eat fish & chips at the spit. We recommend fish on Parkyn for an upmarket dinner experience for couples or Fisheries on the spit for a great casual dining experience during a day at the beach.

Mooloolaba Walking

Walk To Mooloolaba Rock wall

If your looking for a lovely and free activity during your stay then a walk from Mooloolaba Esplanade to the Mooloolaba Rock wall is actually really nice.

The walk takes about 20 minutes and you can walk along the beach ( the spit ) or through the parklands and boardwalk which runs parallel to the beach. Great for early morning or late afternoon jogging as well.

HMAS Brisbane Wreck Diving

HMAS Brisbane Scuba Dive

Scuttled in mid 2005 as an artificial reef, the former destroyer, ex HMAS Brisbane is attracting a growing number of divers from around the country. Being on a sandy floor in 27 metres of water, she seems to be in the perfect diving spot. Consistently good water clarity and minimal swell makes for great diving.

We recommend using Sunreef or Scuba World ( the sunshine coast's longest running dive operators ) for your HMAS wreck diving trip.

Mooloolaba Surf Club

Mooloolaba Surf Club

Steeped in the rich tradition of the Australian Surf Life Saving movement the Mooloolaba Surf Club is an icon of Mooloolaba.

With over 16,000 members it’s easy to see why so many people love visiting the Surf Club any time of day. So whether you’re on vacation, joining friends for a celebration or a new resident to the Sunshine Coast we look forward to welcoming you!

The Surf Club has a large range of regular beers, but does not have many premium or specialty beers. The carvery and roast dinner is the best bet for dinner. Around $17 it's always fresh and they don't mind you serving yourself a BIG portion.

Mooloolab Surf Lessons

Learn To Surf, Sunshine Surf Safari

This is awesome fun. If your planning to hang out at the beach for a few days why not fire up and get surfing! It's cheap, it's active and you can keep practicing for the next few days of your holiday after the lesson finishes.

For the best local surf lessons I highly recommend calling Sunshine Surf Safari. Run by a friend of mine, Adam Ravazzano, he will make the experience cool, fun and affordable. Families, kids, backpackers, whoever! Everyone is welcome.

Adam also offers 3-7 day surf tours for more hardcore surfers. Travel up or down the east coast surfing the best spots.
